Movin on Up

 Hi Peeps,

So free choice for this month over at Scrap That Song............it was so hard to pick a song when there are so many great ones out there.

I eventually went back a few (maybe more) years back to my teenage years and picked the song "Movin on up" by MPeople

I used a pic of my DD with her teacher in Grade 2 - she didnt want to leave and goto Grade 3 cause she loved her teacher so much and I remember saying to her 'Honey we all had to leave and move up to the next grade, I am sure you will get another nice teacher' - cute isnt it?

Here is my LO:-

And some closies of all the goodies and my journalling -

Hope you are all having a great August (and not as hectic as me) - I am feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment with everything that is going on, I wish life would just stop for a week or so so that I can catch up on everything, before we know it christmas will be here * Insert evil laugh*

Don't forget to leave me some lovin (I need it)

Kid's Nachos

Hi Peeps,

I thought I would do a little recipe share today.
This is great recipe for the little one's in your life. Alecia really enjoyed it at daycare and asked if I could make it at home so I got the recipe off them and voila.............  Kid's Nachos

Ingredients

400g Tin Diced Tomatoes
30g pkt Taco Seasoning
400g Kidney Beans
500g Minced Beef
1-2 Rashes Bacon, diced
1 bag Corn Chips
250g Macaroni
1 cp Tasty Cheese, grated

Method

1. In a bowl cook water and pasta
2. Brown the mince, add tomatoes, spices and beans and diced bacon and let it cook through
3. In an oven proof dish drain and place the pasta layer over the mince then add a layer of corn chips and then a layer of cheese
4. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 200c

It fed the 6 of us here with a bit left over so it's a great option for the bigger family

Give it a go and leave a comment to let me know if you enjoyed it.

Back In Black

Hi Peeps,

ROCK can be classified in so many ways and what you determine as ROCK can
be different to what someone else thinks it is. That what makes this month's theme
so versatile. I have chosen the aussie icons ACDC. I went to their Black Ice concert
in Sydney in 2010 and it was amazing - they are just legends. This was the 2nd time
that I had seen them in concert. The first time I was about 16 or 17 years old and I
ended up going backstage and meeting the band. For those of you who have met me
IRL and know how short I am would you believe that Angus Young was only shoulder
height on me.......he he, I could not believe it either.

Here is the song that I have chosen for the challenge at Scrap That Song this month

AWESOME................

And here is my layout

And a few closies....

Left Hand Side of Layout

Right Hand Side of Layout

Brickwork using Crafter's Workshop Template

And my ticket holding "teletubbie" style robot - he he - thanks for the bits LJ

Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with if you have a go at the challenge
If you could leave a comment to that would be fabbo - I love seeing who reads my blog
 - if anyone

ROK on.........

Back in Time

Hi Peeps,
Unfortunately due to a tight university schedule this month and exams I wasnt able to get an example layout done for the current theme this month at Scrap That Song which is...........

Yep you guessed it.........the good ole 80's
Are you inspired?

Maybe I can help you out a bit............let's jump in the time machine and check it out

Can you remember the big hair, ruffle skirts, hoop earrings, coloured sunglasses, bright bold fashion, leg warmers? Oh and don't forget the lacey gloves....you only wore one didn't you?

And what about the music?

Bands with big hair.............that is all - he he

And for good measure this was MOI in the 80's with my brother

But if I was me now in the 80's I would probably have looked like this........

He he he - that is super scary

Ok let's jump back in the time machine and get back to reality

I hope I have inspired you all a bit to have a go at the challenge - You have until the end of the month to link your layouts

Last but not least here is a little poem for inspiration -
Jelly shoes or Kangaroos
White Keds
Spiral perms, mullets galore, rat tails
One long, dangly, silver earring
Gnarly, dude! Where's the beef?
I wanna skip school with Ferris Bueller
Drive a DeLorean
Learn karate from Mr. Miyagi
Sing like Debbie Gibson
Collect scratch-n-sniff stickers
Grab George Michael's butt
Organize my flavored lip gloss and Lee Press-On Nails in my pink Caboodle
Show off my Liz Claiborne purse and my Swatch watch
Skate like Tony Hawk
Trade Messy Tessy for Potty Scotty
Play "Donkey Kong" or "Frogger" on the Atari
Moonwalk like Michael Jackson
Kiss Han Solo
Flirt like Smurfette
Flaunt my Esprit shirt and Guess jeans
Smell like Strawberry Shortcake
Hug my Care Bear
Wicked!
Avoid the Noid!
Can I take my Cabbage Patch Kid to school, Mom? Please?
I won't get Gizmo wet or feed him after midnight, I promise.
How high can my bangs go? Not high enough!
Alex P. Keaton, will you tutor me? Is Mallory still dating Nick?
Where's my Big League Chew?
Marry me, John Cusack!
Like, gag me with a spoon!
I hate the 80's and wish I'd grown up in a different decade...NOT!

Happy Scrapping

Clinical A

Hi Girls,

It was my turn to do an uplift for May on the BOXX and I apologise sincerely for not posting until......June :0
I have had this project on the back burner for a while but unfortunately my life tends to get in the way of my scrapping.

I picked a layout in the gallery over at the Boxx a while back and I can't think of anyone better to uplift than the wonderfully talented Leeann Pearce  - I am a big fan of her style and also of her Etsy shop The Chip Chop Shop. If you haven't checked out her blog or her shop I highly recommend that you head over for a sneek peek.

This is the layout I created with her inspiration -

And this is her wonderful layout -

How gorgeous is that...........she is amazingly talented
Here are some closies -

Bo Bunny and Chip Chop Shop goodness

Sticker sayings and embellies

And lastly my journalling

I used some of the wonderful BO Bunny "Ambrosia" range of pattern paper and embellishments that can be purchased at the BOXX Shop.

Hope you have all had a scrappy weekend
Till next time

All The Singlets

At Scrap that Song this month the theme for the challenge is MISINTERPRETATIONS.

I think all of us at some stage have sung along to a song for years not realising that the words we are singing arent really the words.

The song I have choosen this month is SINGLE LADIES (PUT A RING ON IT) by Beyonce

The song was released back in 2008 when my little Holly bear was 5 years old - and what kid didnt shake their bootie to this song (or even adults for that matter - he he).

Well anyway to cut a long story short instead of singing "All the Single Ladies" she would sing "All the Singlets"

Classic..................

It's even got a little spinner that really spins - how cool

My Journalling....

I know that I have never sung the song the same way since and i'm pretty sure my family and friends all have to take a step back before singing the song now as well.

Head on over to SCRAP that Song and give the challenge a go - I need a good laugh :)

Happy Saturday
