More Goodness Bought To You By The Desktop

Happy Thursday,

I have a few more desktop shares for you today. I did these layouts with the Basic Grey Page Of The Month Kits, I must say I am super upset that the shop I was getting them off stopped selling them but if any of you scrappy peeps know of anywhere that sells them please let me know. Cheers.

The first one is of my daughter at Ballet

Ballet 2010
This was Holly as a Grinch in the end of year concert "A Christmas Carol" - she dances at Dance Central, check them out here as they are a great school

Professional Pic

My Little Grinch

Unfortunately I didn't take any close ups of  either of the page but i'm hoping you can get the drift.

The second page is of my babies first day of school way back in 2011

First Day Of School 2011

Funniest thing :) :) :)

This year was the first year that Holly actually decided to wear a dress to school

Holly 2011

It didn't matter how many times I told her that the dress was on backwards she was adamant that the zip went at the back so to save a mini meltdown on the first day I just let her do her thing........and yes by the time she got home that day the dress was on the right way - he he. Oh to be a kid again - on that note

Thought for The Day

Yep that's me..............still

Hope you are all having a great week

But I have to ask...............R U OK?

Don't forget to leave me some love if you drop by, I would love to see your comments

Till next time - Stay Super

There's Been A Death In The Family

Good Morning,

We'll you'd never guess what happened.........

I'm gunna tell you anyway, you probably don't care but my laptop (Pinkie) died :(

After 6 years I finally had to put my little friend to rest which means that I am being forced to get my ass into gear and share the layouts that I have had sitting on my desktop for like forever cause they are now clogging up my PC

So i'm just gunna get straight into it -

I have no particular style, it's all just "Go with the Flow" and we see what happens -

Our Tree

Good Morning,

Happy Monday.....

When we were young we went to Alma Park Zoo in Brisbane, my sister and I affectionately fell in love with the best climbing tree ever and before we knew it it became "Our Tree". Unfortunately in March 2014 Alma Park Zoo closed down so the fate of "Our Tree" is mysteriously unknown.

As a child there are always those few memories and little things that stick with you for a lifetime. What are some of your favourite childhood things?

Here is the layout I created , the photo was taken in I think 1990?

Woodland Theme

Nothing beats the feeling..(i'd probably break the tree now)

The colours of nature

I think I maybe getting a bit sentimental in my old age........

If you drop by please leave me a comment so I know you have been and looked (it would be highly embarrassing to have a blog that no one looks at)

Here is a thought for the day -

Don't suppress your inner child

MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU

Till next time Jedi's

He was CUTE and SQUISHY

Good Morning,

Well hasn't the cold weather hit all of a sudden and would it be rude of me to say how much I HATE the cold weather.......... I hate layering clothes, i'm already big enough as it is without having to layer an extra 10kg of clothes on.

Today I have an old share for you. It was a Book of You layout from the old Scrapboxx website - now who misses that site???? I know I do that's for sure. The page was created by the always talented Julie Winks who like me has found that life takes over and creativity gets pushed aside. I used my first born in this layout from his 6 month old photo shoot - boy I wish I could go back to those days when he was cute and squishy NOT tall and mouthy :)

So CUTE and SQUISHY

Close Up
And just for a laugh "Look at it now" -

Gotta love it when they take selfie's on your phone

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day
If you have dropped by I would love to hear what you think so leave me some love by posting a comment

Thought for the day:-

Mexican Beef Pie

Good Morning,

And what a great morning it is.....sun is shining, birds are chirping but most importantly the kids are still sleeping ( gotta love school holidays). And how are the school holidays going for everyone? Personally I haven't had a lot of time to spend with the kids as i've been at work and of course hubby has been away at work for the whole holidays as well so the kids haven't been doing much at all......makes them appreciate going to school more I say.

Well I have a great kid friendly recipe to share with you today.
What  kid doesn't love mexican? I can honestly say I haven't found one yet.
This recipe is great for the budding little chef in your life to help you out in the kitchen. Super easy and super yummy Mexican Beef Pie

Ingredients

1 tbs Olive OIl
1 Onion, chopped
500g Beef Mince
140g Tomato Paste
40g Taco Seasoning Mix
400g Can Diced Tomatoes
420g Can Kidney Beans
420g Corn Kernels
Grated Cheese
Tortillas
Corn Chips
Sour Cream

Method

1. Preheat Oven to 180c
2. Heat oil, Saute onion until tender, add mince and cook until browned
3. Stir in tomato paste, seasoning mix and cook 1-2 minutes. Add tomatoes, beans and corn. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes
4. Heat tortillas in microwave until soft. Arrange in dish to form a shell. Spray with oil. Bake 10-15 minutes, until golden.
5. Spoon mixture into shells. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 4-5 minutes, until cheese melts.
6 Serve topped with corn chips and sour cream

I'd love to hear if you try this out or if you have a great variation that I could try out. And of course let me know if the whipper snappers in your house love it as much as mine do.

Here is a thought for the day:-

Hope you survive the rest of the holidays.......

Till next time

Mixed Media Canvas

Good Morning,

This is my weekend at the moment so I thought I would take the opportunity to do a little dance.....no I mean post :)

Last year I took a little bit of time out to do a class at the Scrap Cottage (you can do online orders from this little shop of yumminess for those of you not lucky enough to live in Toowoomba) because sometimes you just need a little boost to get the mojo flowing.

Face it, everyone loves mixed media cause its a good opportunity to get messy and dirty and well colourful......for those who have never delved into mixed media a small explanation on what its all about........

Mixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work. When creating a painted or photographed work using mixed media it is important to choose the layers carefully and allow enough drying time between the layers to ensure the final work will have structural integrity.

If you haven't tried it you should cause it's a great way to use up excess supplies etc, this is what I created on the day

Little Ole Me

Just adding my own individual touch

Some side goodness
After the class a while later I got inspired again and decided to do one at home myself of the fam bam.

Manar Park

I used all sorts of elements that I had in my stash - onion bag, chipboard, flowers etc and even the Fox symbol off an old pair of hubby's riding pants - nothing is junk or unusable, just fun

I'd love to see some of the mixed media you have created (or will create) in your comments and i'd love you to leave me a bit of love so I know you have visited.

Happy Hump Day..

5 Months Later........

Good Morning,

I honestly can't believe it's been 5 months since I blogged, I am either the slackest or the busiest person ever......you decide.

Well I am going to share 2 things with you today, I am just as slack with my photo editing as I am with my scrapping.

The first is a Basic Grey POTM that I did a while back. My son (who is now in Year 11) was School Leader in Year 7.......

School Leader Ceremony 2010

LHS

RHS

His Badge
I actually think his badge was suppose to be returned - whoops!!!!!!! Little did the school know that Mum was a scrapper :)

My other share is a small very basic Mini Mixed Media that was part of the Blue Bazaar Mixed Media Kit Subscription - it was the very first one I did i think back in 2012 - eekkk

Daddy and his Girls

I did try to combine scrapping and mixed media......at the time I was like "Hey this could work" but the way that mix media has evolved all I do now is laugh at it (Which I tend to do at some of my earliest scrap pages as well).

If you have taken the time to look today - my sincere thanks - I love to share
If you aren't following me already - what are you waiting for?
Please subscribe via email ( You will see the link at the top of the page ) - because you really do need to  keep updated every 6 months - he he

Here's a thought for the day for you to ponder :-

 Happy Thursday
